AMERICANA HIGHWAYS | Video Premiere Dave Goddess Group "Back In Business"

Americana Highways is hosting this video premiere of Dave Goddess Group’s song “Back in Business,” the title track from the band’s forthcoming album. Back in Business was co-produced by Dave Goddess and Konrad Carelli; engineered by Carelli and mastered by Georgetown Mastering.

“Back in Business” is Dave Goddess on lead vocals on guitars; Mark Buschi on bass guitar; Chris Cummings on drums and percussion; Craig Kastelnik on organ; and Lauren Davidson on background vocals.

The video was directed by Craig Friebolin, with videography by Craig Friebolin and JB Earl; edited by Mike Goodenow. Video production is courtesy of ubiFire. Antonia Sisti is the actress in the scenes. WIth hip footage from a barn gig and a reunion scene. “Did you miss me much?” is the hopeful line that really rings true this spring. At face value, it’s a song of a romantic rekindling, but it’s symbolic for much more. Enjoy the easy breezy music of the Dave Goddess Group and prepare for the new album.

This is a song about memory, reconciliation, second chances, and the baggage we tend to carry around with us. We’ve all screwed up, but how do we rectify our mistakes? Does the past really matter, or is it more important to just move forward?

Making this video was fun, as it should be, even though it was like 100 degrees in that barn. The band had a chance to act up and I got to mug for the camera. The beautiful outdoor scenes were shot in an abandoned iron works that’s now a park. Anytime you put visuals to music and lyrics you are doing at least some of the imagining for the listener, so I’m always cautious of revealing too much. It’s a very personal song for me, so I’m hoping the video captured its emotion while still telling the upbeat and hopeful side of the story. — Dave Goddess
